Obituary:
Mr. Howard J. Sims, 55, of 8357 Broad River Road in Pomaria, SC, died November 16, 2011.
Born in Pomaria, he was a son of Mrs. Annie Laura Suber Sims and the late Mr. Albert Sims.
Mr. Sims was employed by Richland-Lexington County School District No. 5. He was a member of Saint Mark A.M.E Church in Pomaria, SC, and served as a former trustee, member of the male chorus and member of the usher board.
Mr. Sims is survived by his mother, Mrs. Annie Laura Suber Sims of the home; three brothers, Willie Albert Sims of Knoxville, TN, James Sims of Pomaria, who resides in the home, and Paul Sims of Pomaria; two sisters, Eva Curry (John) of Pomaria, and Mary Ann Johnson (Reginald) of Irmo, SC; one uncle, James Suber (Thomasena) of Newberry, SC; two devoted nephews, Ronald Curry and Stanley Curry; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be held at St. Mark A.M.E Church in Pomaria. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The funeral arrangements are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home of Newberry, SC.
